So You Want To Become An Actor?

Many people have different aspirations in life and what they want to pursue as a profession. Whatever you decide you want to do with your life, you need to make sure to carefully consider all options so you don't look back in ten to fifteen years and regret your decision. If you are deciding on a career in acting or modeling, this is especially important since it is such a tough industry to be in.

Did you know that the employment for actors is expected to grow as fast or faster than the average for other high demand occupations? Yes, it is true! Mostly because we live in an age where everyone is obsessed with television and movies. Regardless of this high demand, you must know, demand for these coveted acting gigs is going to be very fierce.

If you truly want to hit it big in the acting industry, you need to start out by sending your head shots and resumes to agents, directors, producers, and anyone else who might be able to help you fulfill your dreams. You should also be seeking out auditions in your area or in other areas like LA or NY. Attending these auditions will greatly increase your chances of finding an acting gig that is perfect for you.

So, what if things don't work out for you and you just aren't mean for Hollywood right now? Well, you can still work on launching your acting career in a different place. Believe it or not, you can find acting opportunities on Broadway, at a theme park, or a resort.

You might also find great acting opportunities by performing in commercials, industrial films, animated features, audio books, or computer games. These types of jobs will help you gain more experience and pave the way for you to make your way to Hollywood if in fact it is in your future.

If you just don't have what it takes to become an actor but you still love the industry, there are other opportunities to work and excel in your career. There are opportunities to produce, direct, or write screen plays for new movies or TV shows.

If you do end up making it in the industry, you should just realize that there are so many actors out there that the competition can be pretty intense. You just need to make sure that you have experience, have connections, and work hard and you will be noticed over the many other actors that are pursuing the same gigs that you are.
