If you have a hot water heater, you might want to turn down the temperature of the water in your heater. This will also save on your water bill as you won't want to stay in your shower any longer than it takes to clean yourself off, and it will also cut the costs on your gas or electric, whichever your water heater is. Always keep your water pipes covered to keep them warm so that they won't break. That will also help keep the heat from being lost going through your water pipes.
If you have an older home, maybe it's time to install new windows, as this can really save you a lot of money on your heating and cooling bills all year long.
The cost might be high, but in the long run it will be worth the money and with the prices on everything going up, these new windows are good investments. The last thing you need to check is to see if you have enough insulation in your ceilings and walls. Older homes don't. During the time that the home was built, they didn't usually put in a lot of insulation. You will also need to check under your floor, as heat can escape through the floorboards.
