If you should have a fire now or in the near future or have had one in the past, you will or should know that your home will have water damage in addition to the damage caused by the fire. This is just a plain fact because you can't put out a fire without water most of the time. If the fire is from jet fuel or oil or grease, you will have to find something else to put these fires out with.
Any fire can cause damage - from a small one to a major disaster. Whatever is left will most likely have some sign of water damage, too. Assuming that the fire fighter's hose was too close to the walls of your home and the water was so hard, it can tear away big pieces of your walls that you will end up having to replace it. Or your carpet will have to be torn out because of the unlikelihood of you ever getting all of the water out of it.
Damage can be from a number of things and not only from fire, water, or mold. It can be from the sun or harsh chemicals or anything in our every day lives at we are exposed to. There are many ways and ideas to help you keep from have any damage to you or your things, and all you need to do is look them up and always follow the directions.
If you are cleaning up after a fire, you will need to get a truck to haul all the destroyed things away before you can even start to clean or repair the rest. If you don't have any paper, then you need to make a mental list of all the things you will need to clean it up. This list might consist of trash bags for the small things, paper towels or rags or even old towels to help soak up the water, a hair blower to help with the drying of your papers that might have survived or you hope to save, or a carpet cleaner to help remove the water in your carpets, if you are able to save any part of it.
After all of this is done, you will have to start and see what you were able to save. Then comes the real headache, and that is to find out the cost of replacing or fixing the home. If you have insurance, you will need to get with them and find out where you stand. In some cases, you might be better off to just move on, as you might not have enough coverage.
