It's like a disease. We can't really get rid of it. It's addictive. The ringing of the cash register as the cashier pounds on some keys. The sound of credit cards swiping as the check-out lady, places your just-bought merchandise inside the carrier.
Shopping: The thrill of having new clothes, new things or simply the thrill of shopping itself is just grand. Then, as we are headed to another journey of finding our favorite stuffs that we consider as our necessities, we can see our same breed of fashionistas scouring around malls, boutiques and stores for whatever they have in mind. But then again, what we don't notice is that what they're shopping for is not necessarily their kind of style.
Most of them just go with the flow and follow whatever the magazines, designers, and celebrities dictate as the new thing. This simply means that you don't really need to buy magazines. Style is a way of expressing one's self. But if you are really a die-hard advocate of trends and one who is afraid of being a fashion victim, here is an updated list of the different kinds of shoes a woman's best friend.
Platforms: They can be seen at runways or the red carpet. Perfect when worn with really short shorts or skinny jeans along with a loose top or a long shirt plus hoop earrings and you're good to go! When shopping for it, make sure to get all the basic colors black, red and beige. You can also choose ones in funky and popping colors, e.g. a pair that comes in hot pink to spruce up your little black dress.
Flip-flops : Just in time for summer! It doesn't have to carry a certain brand since there are cheaper ones that are just as soft and flexible that also comes in a wide spectrum of colors. But choose ones that come in metallic colors to look now. If you want a sexier stand, opt for ones that come in kitten heels, not the chunky platform types.
Wedges : Wear them with almost anything but if you have the strappy or lace-up kind, go for skirts or daytime dresses which makes the ensemble perfect for lunch dates. It's a perfect closet staple since it provides the much needed height to make you stand tall. It's a wedge so you don't need to worry about tripping over and losing your poise. A big bonus is it's very comfortable.
Thongs : A lot like flip-flops only sexier and it looks more formal. Get ones that have a nice chain detail going in front since chains, especially the gold ones are so in right now.
Peep-toes : Are you going for a look that's casual? Pick a pair of flats. If you want something dressier, a pair of platforms is your best bet. Get it in all available colors whether they're flats or platforms. And if you have a stripe top in black and white, go for a pair that comes in red patent leather.
Sneakers : For an outfit that is sporty and has eye-popping colors, wear a neutral or metallic colored sneakers. But for a plain ho-hum outfit, choose a trendier one, like the new ones that look like flats and have shoestrings for lace-ups.
Boots : Knee-high leather boots and ankle boots are so hot but because it's summer, you don't see them a lot. Instead we see ones that are in brown suede paired with daytime dresses worn by celebrities.
